Two teenagers from Munich dreamed of the Californian lifestyle as they sped through the streets of their neighborhood on skateboards, devouring American skate magazines. Although Bernd Georgi and Horst Kern never quite made it to Venice during the golden years of skateboard culture, their dream of a life free from convention—combined with their careers in the fashion industry—eventually took them as far afield as South Africa and Hong Kong. In 1996, they founded their own company; since then, they have been producing high-quality accessories and luggage for renowned brands worldwide.

With Floyd, the two entrepreneurs—drawing on more than 20 years of experience in luggage manufacturing—have returned to their roots. Inspired by the dreams of their youth, their brand and its unconventional rolling suitcases serve as a tribute to the 1970s bohemian spirit and the vibrant visual language of that pulsating decade in Venice.
